The case for honest timber

I know in some places, the kids have been back for a couple of weeks already, but here we don’t go back until after Labour Day.

Yesterday, I was getting the house all ready for our dinner and Chris came in and told me “The corn across the street is way better than your corn, you want me to go cut you some?” I said “Yes.”.Still waiting on that corn.

I guess he thought he was being funny.. Let this be a lesson to him: You don’t joke about corn around here.Or any offerings of Fall decorations, for that matter. If you’re offering up Fall decorations, you’d better be ready to deliver!.

So that’s the simple truth of the matter. Our Fall decorations outside are just the same as everyone else’s around here.

And that’s just fine with me!This is another craft I did with Kennedy last week when her school was closed for a teacher development day.

I’ve actually tried different versions of this idea a few times, but they’ve never worked., I wasn’t really ready to paint the walls yet, but I wanted to paint a little, so I did these boxes of color, which kind of gave the feeling of molding on the walls.

For a little while, then the icky feeling came back because there were still those marked up parts on the walls and the floor was still torn up a bit.I  did a pretty good job of faking it for the pictures though didn’t I?.

I had these (ridiculously easy to make!)capri curtains and this little rug too, which were OK, but I was over the red.
