Remove the bag door and tower filter and inspect the wire running down the inside of the body behind the filter.This is part of the main wiring loom.Look for signs of heat damage, discolouration or brittleness at the plug end – you may need to remove it to see this, but again, a test meter is your friend here.. We see this often in machines with intermittent faults.

Inside the swivel neck, there’s another short loom with two brass prongs you’ll see sticking up.
